One of the more popular uses of iPad is in education, so it makes sense that companies would develop products to help enhance this use case. Logitech has just announced two new keyboard cases targeting iPad in the classroom, the Logitech Rugged Combo 4c and the Logitech Rugged Combo 4c Touch for the iPad 10th generation and iPad (A16).
The key difference between the two is that the Combo 4c does not include a trackpad, but the Combo 4c Touch does.
According to the press release, these cases were designed with educator, student, and IT professional feedback in mind to address some common pain points.
The cases add a dedicated USB-C port so that users can charge and listen to wired audio at the same time. USB-C Audio is the likely solution here.
The cases also include a QR code for easy asset serial number tracking, and an asset tag window for easy tag visibility.
Like most keyboard cases targeting younger audiences, the Combo 4c cases are pretty thick and provide protection around all four corners. The company claims these cases have drop protection of up to 6’6”.
The keyboard itself is fully sealed and spill-resistant, protecting the keys from spills and crumbs, similar to the Apple Smart Keyboards that existed before the Magic Keyboard was released in 2020.
The case has a kickstand that helps it support four different postures for reading, sketching, watching, and typing. Both of these cases use the iPad’s Smart Connector for connecting to the iPad and powering the keyboard, no Bluetooth required.
No pricing information was provided, but these cases are currently available to order through Logitech’s authorized education distributors.
