I don’t use it everyday, but when I’m in the mood for video game music, the Nintendo Music app has provided a great selection of classic and current Nintendo tunes.

With version 1.6.0, the app now supports iPadOS with a proper tablet layout. Calling it “tablet optimized” might be a bit of a stretch, but the app is now fully resizable, and can participate in iPadOS multitasking features like Slide Over and Split View.

Not quite “optimized”, but a good start.

On top of proper iPad support, this release of the Nintendo Music app also adds support for Apple CarPlay for easier listening in the car using your vehicle’s built-in display.

For desktop users, there’s also now a web app version at https://music.nintendo.com/ for listening via your web browser. Not quite as nice as having a dedicated app, but certainly better than nothing.

The Nintendo Music app is available in the App Store and requires a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership and a device running iPadOS/iOS 16 or later.
