A week after the release of developer beta 3, the fourth developer beta for iPadOS 18.5 is now available for registered developers. A public beta update should follow closely behind it in the coming days.
Betas should continue to release more frequently as we get close to the final Release Candidate build.
There appear to be no new end-user changes in beta 4 (no surprise).
The developer release notes do call out one new change related to Broadcast Extensions. Broadcast Extensions are used as part of ReplayKit for capturing and streaming screen content or audio. In this release, these extensions have a higher per-process memory limit. This means that they should be able to utilize more RAM, enabling ReplayKit to capture or stream content in a higher quality.
The final version of iPadOS 18.5 should be released in May.
