Edit: Calling out that at the time of publishing, the Apple Newsroom article says the release date is October 28, but the App Store page says October 29.
Four years after it was originally announced as part of WWDC 2022, No Man’s Sky, a procedurally generated space exploration game, is arriving on iPad and iPhone October 28. One of the earliest articles on this site was me complaining that No Man’s Sky was two years late on iPad, so it’s nice to see it wasn’t silently cancelled like I thought. (Still waiting on Assassin’s Creed Shadows!)
As part of Indie Games Week on the App Store (which is apparently a thing now), Apple’s press release mentions that No Man’s Sky on iPad and iPhone will include every major content update to date. That’s 10 years of updates! (Feel old yet?)
The beginning part of the game is available for free, and there’s a $19.99 in-app purchase to unlock the full game.
On iPad and iPhone, the game requires iPadOS/iOS 26 or later and a device with an A12 Bionic chip or later.
