Notion is one of the more popular organizational and note-taking options for the productivity-minded. I’m not a user myself, but I’ve gotten the distinct impression that the Notion iPad app has never really met user expectations.
That may soon be changing based on a post on Notion’s official Threads account. The iPad app, which is apparently largely a web view, is being rebuilt using native technologies.

Rebuilding the app natively will ideally lead to better and more consistent performance across the areas mentioned in the post, like the sidebar and inbox. It could also allow Notion to better take advantage of new iPadOS features. For example, a common complaint I’ve seen from users is that Apple Pencil support is sorely lacking.
The Threads post mentions that improved iPadOS 27 support will also be coming. Users will be able to ask Siri to:
- Create a note or find an existing one
- Start an AI chat
- Record meeting notes
There’s no mention of when this rebuilt iPad experience will be coming, so keep an eye on Notion’s social media pages.
