iPadOS 18.6

After five developer betas, Apple has just pushed iPadOS 18.6 for general release on all supported iPads.

As expected, there’s not much to report. There don’t appear to be any notable user-facing changes, and the release notes don’t highlight anything of real value. There was an issue in Photos that could prevent memory movies from being shared that has been addressed in this release.

As usual, there’s a smattering of security updates in the release, which by themselves make this update worth installing. The security notes can be found here (may not be live yet).

I’ve seen some anecdotal sentiment that this release feels more “stable”. Personally, I’ve noticed no difference in behavior between iPadOS 18.5 and 18.6 on my test device.

Anywho, enjoy what’s very likely the final iPadOS 18 release.
