Today, Apple released iPadOS 18.3.1 with an important fix for USB Restricted Mode. USB Restricted Mode, a feature on Apple devices, is designed to prevent unauthorized access by blocking data access when a USB device is plugged in. This release fixes an issue that may have allowed USB Restricted Mode to be disabled via physical access. Apple says this bug may already have been exploited against specific targeted individuals.

Apple has also released iPadOS 17.7.5 for older iPads, addressing the same bug.
