The second developer beta for iPadOS 26.2 is now available for developer testing and should soon be available for public beta users. This release comes two weeks after the first developer beta with added new features, including numerous improvements to the Podcasts app and the ability to set alarms with Reminders.

This beta release, coming in at little over 1 GB on my M1 iPad Pro, is a much quieter affair in terms of new additions.

Here’s what’s new (will be updated if more is found):

New Features

Liquid Glass Continues Its Slow March

A few UI elements that hadn’t yet felt the soothing touch of Liquid Glass are now glassier than ever. The items in question are the Close, Show More, and Clear All buttons in Notification Center.

Smoother Menu Animations

In Beta 2, the animation when expanding a menu feels a little bit faster and bouncier than in previous releases. Some are saying that it’s more like what Apple showed during the OS unveiling at WWDC.

Games App Improvements

A new splash screen in the Games app highlights a few improvements in this release, namely:

  • The ability to navigate the app with a connected game controller
  • The ability to sort and filter Games
  • You can see your scores (presumably in Game Center) update in real time.

iPadOS 26.2 is expected to be released sometime in December.
