iPadOS 26.1 Beta 3

The third developer beta of iPadOS 26.1 is now available for download.

Beta 2, released just a week ago, was pretty notable for iPad users, as it marked the return of Slide Over to iPadOS 26 (at least in beta form). As usual, these beta releases tend to come faster as we approach the final release.

We’re expecting the rumored M5 iPad Pro to be announced any day now. If history is any indication, it’s likely that the new hardware will ship with iPadOS 26.1, meaning the final release is probably right around the corner.

Despite being a hefty 12 GB download on my M1 iPad Pro, there’s not much new in Beta 3. Here are the changes noted so far:

Local Capture Options in Settings App

In the Settings app, Local Capture now has its own dedicated section under General -> Local Capture The options that were previously only accessible from Control Center, such as changing the output file location or selecting Audio Only for your recording, are also accessible here.

Apple TV Icon Update

The icon for the TV app has been refreshed with a new, more vibrant look.
