The latest game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, is being released for a variety of platforms on March 20, 2025. A post on Apple’s Developer blog confirms the game is still planned to be released for iPads with M-Series chips….eventually.

During WWDC 2024, Ubisoft announced both day one Mac support and M-Series iPad support, but they’ve yet to provide a release date for iPadOS. It would be great if the iPad version came out simultaneously with the macOS version, but the pre-order page simply reads “Also coming to iPad”. It seems like the iPad version may be coming post launch.

On iPads with an M3 (like the new iPad Air) or M4 chip, the game should support some level of real-time ray tracing.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows transports players to late 16th-century Japan during the turbulent Sengoku period, offering a richly detailed open world that encompasses regions like Kyoto, Kobe, Osaka, and the Iga Province.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will eventually be available for M-Series iPads on the App Store.
