
Apple has released iPadOS 18.7.2 and iOS 18.7.2, a security-focused update for older, but still supported, iPads and iPhones. This update back ports many of the security fixes in iPadOS 26.1 and iOS 26.1.
What’s Fixed
According to Apple’s security notes, the update addresses vulnerabilities across multiple components, such as:
- Accessibility – tightened app-permission checks (CVE-2025-43442)
- Audio – improved data redaction for system logs (CVE-2025-43423)
- Camera – blocked access to camera info before permission is granted (CVE-2025-43450)
- Kernel – memory-handling improvements to prevent crashes (CVE-2025-43398)
- Mail – fixes remote-content loading even when disabled (CVE-2025-43496)
- Model I/O – several memory-corruption fixes from Trend Micro ZDI reports
Supported Devices
iPad: iPad Pro (3rd gen and later), iPad Air (3rd gen and later), iPad (7th gen and later), and iPad mini (5th gen and later).
iPhone: iPhone XS or later
It is best practice to apply security updates as soon as possible.
