WhatsApp for iPad
It’s about time….

After years of waiting, wishing, and TestFlight builds, Meta has finally launched WhatsApp for iPadOS. As of Version 25.16.81, released today, Apple’s tablet platform finally has access to an optimized version of the popular messenger.

WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging services in the world, with over 3 billion monthly active users. An iPad version of the app has been requested by users pretty much since the iPad launched in 2010.

To use WhatsApp on iPad, you’ll need to link the app to WhatsApp on your phone, as the service requires a validated phone number.

WhatsApp on iPad supports all of the standard features you’d expect, like chat, audio calls, and video calls of up to 32 participants. The app also includes support for end-to-end encryption.

Thankfully, the app passes the basic iPad app sniff test….it supports Slide Over and Split View multitasking, as well as proper Stage Manager resizing.

Oh, and it also rotates. Nice work there, Meta. Let’s hope Instagram is up next!

WhatsApp for iPad is available in the App Store and requires iPadOS 15.1 or later.
