Less than a year after its last update, Apple has announced the 2025 iPad Air.

Performance
The iPad Air now includes the M3 chip, which brings improved performance and a significant graphics boost to the iPad Air. The M3 offers a roughly 20% performance increase over the M2 it replaces (which has been a common delta for all of Apple’s M-Series updates to date).
The M3 brings the same support for hardware-accelerated ray-tracing that came to the M4 iPad Pro and A17 Pro iPad Mini last year.
Wireless
The new iPad Air continues to support both Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, with no sign of Wi-Fi 7 support.
The cellular model continues to offer 5G support, but there’s no indication that the Air includes Apple’s new C1 chip.
Updated Magic Keyboard
Along with the release of the new iPad Air, Apple is also releasing an updated Magic Keyboard, now called the Magic Keyboard for iPad Air. This keyboard adds a 14-key function row and a larger trackpad to the existing design. The new Magic Keyboard for iPad Air now starts at $269 for the 11-inch model, and $319 for the 13-inch model, with minor price decreases from the previous models.
The 2025 iPad Air is now available for pre-order. It will be released on March 12th at the same starting prices of $599 for the 11-inch model and $799 for the 13-inch model. Both configurations begin with 128 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM.
Update: The initial version of this post said the 13 inch iPad Air was $699 when its is in fact $799. My bad.
